FLOW WITH THE CURRENT
Purpose: To be able to deal with
the situations
you cannot control.
Duration: Ten minutes
Posture: Sitting
Procedure:
1. Close your eyes. Imagine a placid river flowing quietly.
Imagine yourself floating in it. With ease.
The river takes you downstream.
You have no responsibilities. The river does all the work.
2. Recall an incident where you had to do something against your wishes.
Recall your feelings, your opposition
and resistance and also the powerlessness to resist.
3. Float again down the river.
As you float down, recall the incident in (2).
Don't oppose the feelings of resistance or anger.
Merely shove them aside into the river; as you float calmly.
The procedure will teach you not to waste energy fighting what you cannot resist.
