You can do this from 10 minutes per session to unlimited time (if you want..)

How about giving this a name
SPIRITUAL CONSOLATION

All you have to do is to take a passage from your scripture that grips you like
"Any one who is thirsty should come to me and drink,"
Repeat it like a mantra without thinking about it until your heart is satisfied.
Then, let yourself react spontaneously.
Maybe one day you will get tired of reacting with words,
going beyond words to silence.
Read, recite, react --
that is the procedure.

The exercise will have a meaning for you quite beyond the mind.
As a variation take a passage you are fond of and
imagine the author standing before you uttering it.
Let the words reverberate within you until you can contain yourself no longer.
Then let yourself react spontaneously.
Silence is likely to overtake you before you have time to react.
